WPA Design of micro source and load controllers for efficient integration
The main objective of this WP is to develop microcontrollers for microsources and loads capable to provide more efficient voltage and frequency control in case of islanded operation. These controllers will deal efficiently with frequency variations during transitions from interconnected to islanded operation. Moreover, the microcontroller software will be enhanced with local agents, able to handle participation of the microplayers in energy markets in a highly de-centralized approach (Input from WPB).

Furthermore the P-Q coupling of the LV grids due to the line characteristics will be assessed with regard to efficient voltage control. Short-term capabilities of inverters in order to support ancillary services will be investigated. This WP will include extensive laboratory testing and validation, where applicable.

Description of work :
ΤΑ1. Requirements for various DGs in supporting Microgrid operation
TA2. Implications of line parameters on Microsource controller algorithms
TA3. Local Intelligence - Plug & Play behaviour
TA4. Enhanced DSM
