TE2 - Grid code requirements for Microgrids

DG technologies and applications are far away from being exploited in real installations, especially in LV grids. Some of the problems arising from its connection on the electrical system performance are detected and addressed by means of different Grid Codes across EU. This situation may change in a near future as seen with the tripping of DG rule when disturbances (faults, voltage sags, …) appear on the grid being under revision to impose fault ride-through requisites. Some other new needs related to the dynamic behaviour, power quality, voltage support, etc., may also appear.

LABEIN, ISET, MVV, ZIV and Siemens will identify the currently and future applicable grid codes that define requisites to DG units, so to their standards. ICCS/NTUA will provide information from the relevant CIGRE Task Forces
